Planning your move

We know that moving overseas or within a continent can be pretty stressful, however we try to minimize by keeping always inform our customers, for that reason we strongly recommend to follow the next steps:

  • Please start planning your move with us within minimum 5 weeks prior your departure by clicking HERE.

  • Try to book the packing and pickup date within 3 weeks.

  • Check Export and Import Customs Regulations with your IMC (International Move Coordinator) assigned for your move within 2 weeks before your departure. And please deliver all the documentation before the packing and pickup dates in order to avoid delays or stress during your relocation.

  • On the packing and pickup day, just relax and enjoy.

That moving does not just required to prepare to move your goods, you need also to prepare and check your immigration documentation at the destination country. If you need assistance with this services, please contact our relocation department and immigration department. Also, you need to make sure that everything is settle before the departure, for that reason we leave you here a quick and easy check-list to follow:

​5 – 6 Weeks prior your move:

​

  1. Check if all docs are valid (License, Passport, ID, etc.)

  2. Check if any permits are required in your new country

  3. Check for any medical requirements

  4. All Docs ready for the trip?

  5. Keep all legal docs together

  6. Check your Insurance History

  7. Cancel all Subscriptions

  8. Notify Schools

  9. Start Selling your Car or Move it with US!

​3 – 4 Weeks prior your move:

​

  1. Sell or Give to Charity all Items you don’t want to move

  2. Give your friends your new destination contacts

  3. Cancel all Services (Gas, Electricity, Phone, Etc.)

  4. Check Leasing, Credits, or other legal agreements.

  5. Book your packing and pickup date with Intermobility

  6. Advise your bank, tax, doctor about your new address

  7. Request all your personal docs, such certificates, diplomas, etc.

​2 Weeks prior your move:

​

  1. Clean your home and goods you wish to move.

  2. Ask a family member/friend or hire a babysitter for the moving date.

  3. Sell or Give to Charity all perishable goods such, plants.

​1 Week prior your move:

​

  1. Empty fuel tank of your motorcycle or automobile that you wish to move with us.

  2. Close your Bank accounts.

  3. Organize transport to the airport.

  4. Defrost and Clean your Fridge / Freezer.

  5. Send all the export / import documentation to your IMC.

​1 – 2 Days prior your move:

​

  1. Make sure you have your personal items together (Keys, Passport, Tickets, Money, Medications, Etc.)

  2. Disconnect, Clean and Dry Electrical appliances.

  3. Ask your neighbors or building administration for extra space on the parking for the move date.

  4. Go through each room and make sure nothing is left behind.

    É importante que forneça atempadamente toda a documentação solicitada pelo seu CMI, de modo a evitar encargos elevados, associados com sobreestadias ou encargos portuários à chegada (apenas aplicável para mudanças intercontinentais). / Is important to provide all the documentation required by your IMC on time, in order to avoid high costs on demurrages or port storage at the arrival (apply only for inter-continental moves).
